Maternity photography
Pregnancy is short, and never feels short while it lasts. These photos usually work best between weeks 30 and 36, when the bump is clearly there but moving around is still comfortable.
We can shoot at your home in your own light, or outdoors. No special clothes or props are needed — simple, soft garments and your own home almost always give a warmer result than a studio full of accessories.
Partners and older siblings are welcome to join. Those are often the frames you end up looking at most.
Newborn and the first year
Newborn sessions work best in the first weeks, while the baby still sleeps deeply and the body keeps that curled-up shape. I work at your pace: feeding, changing and breaks are part of it, and we take the time we need.
During the first year a child changes faster than at any other time. Many parents book a few short sessions spread across the year instead of one, and end up with a real series rather than a single frame.
All of it can happen at your home if you prefer — the child is calmer in their own space, and the photos end up being yours rather than a studio\u{2019}s.
Family portraits
Most families have thousands of phone pictures and almost none with everybody in the frame at once. That is the picture we make.
I will not ask you to stand still and smile at the camera. We walk, talk, play with the children, and I photograph what happens in between. We also take a couple of calm, deliberate frames — those are usually the ones that end up framed at the grandparents\u{2019}.
If you want the photos on metal, a mug or as prints, I arrange that on request.
