The website and the tender carry stock images: someone else's workshop, someone else's people in someone else's helmets. The client can tell. There are no photos of your own for an understandable reason — it is unclear who may be let onto the site, how to clear the shoot with health and safety, and whether it will stop the work.

I take the safety induction, work in protective gear and shoot without interfering with the job: the people, the machinery and the process itself, including evening and night shifts. Permits such as ID06 I arrange when needed, an NDA on request.

I have been shooting for 15 years, more than 3,000 shoots. Below is what ends up in the set, how a shoot on site is prepared, and two examples: a ferroalloy plant and a night shift.

What I photograph

People at work, without staged poses: hands, focus, teamwork. Machinery and equipment in operation. The process step by step, so an outsider understands how the job is done.

I take both wide shots of the whole site and close-up details. I am happy to photograph night shifts and work under floodlights: the light, the steam and the hi-vis clothing give images a lot of character.

Preparation, safety and not disturbing the work

Before the shoot we agree where and when the work takes place, which stages matter most and who my contact person on site is. I take the site safety induction and wear the protective gear required.

If the site requires ID06 or SSG Entre, I obtain it before the assignment. On site I keep my distance from the machines, follow instructions and never ask people to stop working for a picture.

Confidentiality: I am happy to work under an NDA and never show photos with the client’s name without permission.

Example: the Vargön Alloys ferroalloy plant

On 7 October 2026 I photographed delegates from an international industry conference visiting Vargön Alloys in Vargön near Vänersborg. The plant makes ferrochrome, the raw material for stainless steel. The result was a series of 392 photos.

The series follows the metal all the way: furnace and tapping, ladle and pouring in sparks and smoke, the control room, the halls and the people in hard hats. A hot shop is among the hardest places to shoot: deep darkness right next to glowing metal.

Example: night-time asphalt paving on a bridge in Lerum

On 31 August 2026, I photographed night-time asphalt paving on a bridge in Lerum municipality. The series came to 149 photos.

The photos cover the whole chain: trucks delivering asphalt, the paver, the roller in the steam, the crew under floodlights and details of the work. A series like this is enough for a website, a tender and months of social media posts.
